His son and heir, Robert Chatfield of Greatham, yeo., conveyed the properties, 6 Sept. 1841, to Thomas Manfield Halliday of Petworth, gent. (no. WISTON/2989), and there is an assignment, of even date, from Arthur Mant of Storrington, gent., to John Halliday of Arundel, gent., in respect of outstanding terms, to hold in trust for said Thomas Manfield Halliday (no. WISTON/3570; with marginal plan); of even date, is a deed of covenant for the production of title deeds (reciting a proposed exchange of 6a. land, being the S.E. part of Mill Common, for a cottage and garden near Rock House) (no. WISTON/3571) and a bond to indemnify again a legacy under the will of Thomas Chatfield of Greatham, yeo. dec'd. (no. WISTON/3572).
