Mary's life was a continual western migration as she was born in Connecticut, lived in many counties in New York state, then to Michigan, Ohio and finally, Indiana. Mary was married to Joel Isbell January 30, 1793 in Columbia county, New York. Joel died in 1838 in Michigan. They had the following children: Charles (1795), Frances aka Fanny (1797), James (1799), Heman (1802), Naomi (1804), Albert (1807), Joel Jr (1809), Myron (1813), twin boys who died young Leander and Philander (1814) and Mary (1815). The children were all born in New York state. After her husband's death, Mary lived with her daughter, Fanny Isbell Rawson, in Noble county, Indiana.
