Ransom Chatfield, a former resident of Bethany and well-known in Naugatuck, is confined to Grace hospital, New Haven, in a serious condition. Some time ago he had trouble with one of his feet. This was cured, he thought, but gangrene set in and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. An operation was performed, a part of the foot being removed, and it is probable that another operation will be necessary, as his condition is poor.
