434. Jonathan Chatfield was born on 19 July 1743 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA. He died on 25 November 1805 at the age of 62. There is another Jonathan, nephew, who many seem to have mixed up.

Was one of those who volunteered in Capt. Bristol's Co. in the call to East Haven, July 9, 1779. On the 10th he enlisted in the Seventh Regiment, and served until Oct. 1, when he was honorably discharged.

Jonathan Chatfield and Dinah Chittenden were married on 31 December 1789 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA. They were Congregational, and were married in the Second Church of Killingworth by Rev. William Seward.
Dinah Chittenden, daughter of Timothy Chittenden and Abigail Ward, was born on 8 September 1765 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA. She died after 1820 at the age of 55. Other sources state Dinah was born May 1767, and died sometime after 1840.
