She had been a resident of Orwell since 1978, moving there from Bethany, Conn. She worked as a private duty Elder Care provider in the Brandon/Orwell area for several years. She belonged to the Orwell Congregational Church. She was a member and past president of the Orwell Fort Nightly Club, where she was actively involved in the care and maintenance of the Fort Nightly Flowers Garden on the village green. She is survived by her husband, George D. Bathgate of Orwell, whom she married in Bethany on Aug. 24, 1974; two daughters, Sandra Martin and her husband, David, of Brandon, and Laura Falquero and her husband, John, of Branford, Conn.; one son, Mark Falcone of Arlington, Va.; four stepdaughters, Sandra Destadio of Peachtree City, Ga., Cynthia Stankus of Hamden, Conn., Shelley Shields of Auburn, Ala., and Lori LaFountain of Lochapoka, Ala.; a brother, John Earley of Bethany; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; two nephews; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfonse Falcone, and a brother, Russell Young. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at the Orwell Congregational Church. The Rev. John Tetreault, pastor, will officiate. Following the service the family will receive friends in the church hall for a time of fellowship and reflection. A private burial will take place at Bingo Cemetery in Rochester. |
