Gerry Allen Henneman, 79, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Geraldine (Ippolito) Henneman. Gerry and Geraldine celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2009. Born May 31, 1930, in Los Angeles, Calif., Gerry was the son of the late Ralph Blantan and Virginia I. Henneman. Gerry was a retired Lieut. of the USA Coast Guard and had 24 years of service. He served from 1947 to 1972. Following his service in the Coast Guard, he was employed by Dentsply and the York Hospital. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, York. In addition to his wife, Geraldine, he is survived by a son, John A. Henneman of Davie, Fla.; daughter, Lynne D. and her husband, Richie Nayman of Peekskill, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev Father John A. Szada, of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Hanover, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
