OBITUARY -- Elinor Chatfield-Taylor

Elinor Chatfield-Taylor, once one of San Francisco's leading real estate brokers, died Monday in San Rafael after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 84.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Chatfield-Taylor was a descendant of Captain Edward Bangs, a member of the Plymouth Colony and founder of the town of Brewster, Mass.
Several years after a divorce from her first husband, the late Joseph A. Thomas, Mrs. Chatfield- Taylor moved to San Francisco in 1948 with her second husband, the late Robert Chatfield-Taylor.
Known for her vibrance, Mrs. Chatfield-Taylor devoted most of her time to the Children's Hospital Women's Auxiliary, which helped raise money for the San Francisco hospital.
During her real estate career, she specialized in luxury homes, retiring from Hill and Company in the late 1980s.
She is survived by four children, Michael M. Thomas of Sag Harbor, N.Y., Jeffrey Thomas of San Francisco, Joan Chatfield-Taylor of San Francisco and Robert F. Chatfield-Taylor Jr. of Weston, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private, and a memorial service is scheduled for December.
