Pioneer Woman Passes On After Long and Eventful Life.
In the death of Mrs. Susan Hazen CHATFIELD, Michigan loses another pioneer woman who had seen the state emerge from a wilderness and attain its present proud position among the commonwealths of the nation during her lifetime.
Mrs. CHATFIELD, who was 85 years old, passed away Sunday, October 20, 1929, at the home of her son, William CHATFIELD, 307 West Upright avenue, following an illness of about six months duration.

She was subsequently married at Muskegon to Charles Chatfield. There were two other children, a daughter, Mary, and a son, Marcellus, who died ten and seven years ago respectively.
The funeral was held Tuesday, October 22, at 10:00 a. m., from the Church of God, Rev. Marks of Petoskey officiating.
