Mabel O. Callaham, 79, longtime resident of Banner County, died at a Gering rest home Saturday afternoon.

She was born June 12, 1889, in Banner County and attended school there.

She married Albert Earl Callaham on Dec. 25, 1905 at Harrisburg. They lived in Banner County until his death in 1958.

She moved to Gering and later stayed with daughters at Kimball and Lynwood, California. She then returned to Kimball and then to Gering.

She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Gering and the Pythian Sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Elmer of Whittier, Calif., Elton of La Mirada, Calif., and Bud of Sheridan, Wyo.; two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Edna) Nagel of Kimball and Mrs. Merle (Ethel) Ashmore of Lynnwood, Calif.; two brothers, Dick Cross and Frank Cross, both of Gering; 20 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
