OBITUARY.
A 6 o'clock on Tuesday morning Thomas D. Chiles, an old resident of this city and at one time an influential man in the affairs of the State, died at his residence, corner of Kansas Avenue and Sixth street, after an illness of ten days duration. Mr. Chiles had been an invalid for a long time, and had been compelled to withdraw from active participation in the affairs of men. He was a prominent Odd Fellow, and kept up his connection with the lodge in this city until the time of his death. He was a man of whom his friends speak only in terms of praise, and his death is regretted all who knew and loved him.
The funeral ceremonies will be under the charge of Friendship Lodge, I.O.O.F., of this city,and will be conducted at the family residence, where a short serve will be said by Rev. Mr. Howie, at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. The interment will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
