Mrs. Emma Oswald, 74, formerly of 2501 Washington St. and recently of Mt. Pleasant Home, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday at Finley Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Zelle, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call after noon Monday at the Hoffmann Mortuary.
Mrs. Oswald was born in Dubuque, daughter of Carl and Rose (Wadhofske) Karsch, and lived here all her life. She married Harry F. Oswald, May 20, 1915. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Cleo Ball, Mrs. Eldon (Geri) Kramer, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) O'Meara, and Mrs. Syl (Arlene) Shetler all of Dubuque; Mrs. Howard (Bea) Loring, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Mrs. William (Shirley) CHATFIELD, Alexandria, Virginia; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Lillian Spiegelhalter, and Mrs. Charles (Freda) Spangler, both of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Oswald in 1967.
