Edward L. Miklos Sr., age 63 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 42 years to the late Norma Olsen Miklos, joined to be with his wife, Friday, February 22, 2008. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Edward and Lillian Prutting Miklos. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Ed was the proprietor and president of Ed Miklos Heating Inc. for more than 25 years. In his younger days, Ed was an accomplished Drag Racer having won more than 31 first place trophies at the Dover Race Track. Ed enjoyed bowling, gardening and traveling with his late wife, Norma. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 2220 of Fairfield. A gentle man who would never refuse to help anyone in distress or in need of heat, he will be sadly by missed by all his appreciative customers and friends. Survivors include his devoted son, Edward L. Miklos Jr. and his wife, Chelle; his loving aunt, Evelyn Miklos, all of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to St. Andrew's Church, Wednesday at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line). The Elks will exemplify their Memorial Ritual Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
