The Beveridges arrived in Melbourne aboard the "Ocean Chief " in October 1856. Jane was listed in the passenger list as "Infant Beveridge". Several of Robert's brothers also made the journey but only he and his brother Thomas remained permanently, the others including my great-great grandfather, Alexander returned to Scotland at varying times. (Note from a descendant)
Robert and Grace settled in Bright, Victoria where Robert, a Clock and Watchmaker had a Jewellery Store.
