D'EVLIN -John Joseph D'Evlin, on the 16th March last, from the result of a deplorable accident caused through part of a scaffold falling upon him whilst engaged in his contract in erecting buildings at the corner of Melbourne and Cordelia streets, South Brisbane. Deceased was the beloved husband of Anne D'Evlin, of Dauphin-terrace, Highgate Hill, South Brisbane and leaves a family of eight children to mourn their sad bereavement. He was well known and universally respected, having formerly been Government contractor and inspectpr of school buildings to the old Board of Education. An old and valued colonist, a model husband, a kind and affectionate father, a constant and true friend, has thus happier sphere in the twenty-sixth year of his residence in this colony and the 48th of his age.
Deceased was the fourth son of John D'Evlin, builder, &c., of Dublin, and mother of James D'Evlin ordnance contractor to the Government for South Ireland, and son-in-law of Daniel Gamble, gentleman, of Cork city. Cork and Dublin.
