The John Womble & Mollie E. Zorn that you refer to is the son of Drury W. Womble who lived in Upson and then Talbot Co's, Ga. He went by the name of John. My grandfather's name was John Berry (JB) Womble and he always went by JB. His father was Drury (Drew) R. Womble. JB's wife was Mollie Elizabeth Pressley. Her parents were Thomas & Mary Smith Pressley. I have spent a lot of time in Upson Co. trying to sort out the two different Womble families that lived there in the late 1800's. Both Drury fought in the 5th Ga. Reg.
Womble is a common name in Va., NC, SC and Ga. Came into Va as Wombwell's from England.
