She was born on October 6, 1935, in Muscatine, the daughter of Harold Chester and Elizabeth Mae Honts Troxel. She married Donald Duane Ferrell on July 18, 1975, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She had been a seamstress at Muscatine General Hospital for many years. She enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, bowling and fishing. She loved playing with the grandkids and did until her last day.
She is survived by sons, John Ferrell and wife, Mary, of Minnesota, and Kirk Chatfield and wife, Dorene, of Muscatine; daughters, Debra Simpson of Mason City, Brenda Ferrell of Stan Hope, Ellyn Kerschenske and husband, Marvin, of Muscatine, Rebecca Phillips and husband, Jim, of Muscatine, and Amanda Dacy and husband, Paul, of Grandview; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell Troxel of Muscatine; and a sister, Haroldyne Lucas of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Earl Victor; a daughter, Kim Chatfield; and a brother, Norman "Bud" Troxel.
