MRS. W.H. OWREY DIED SUNDAY
Services Will Probably Be Held Wednesday Morning
Ida Bliss Owrey, 66, wife of William H. Owrey, died Sunday evening at 8;00 o'clock at her home at 1005 south Sixth street. Mrs. Owrey had been in ill health since last March but her illness only became critical during the past few days and her death came as a shock to her many friends.
Mrs. Owrey was born at Maysville, Ky, July 15, 1863, a daughter of Stephen V. and Suzan Jane Bliss. On December 18, 1883 she was united in marriage to William H. Owrey of this city and they had since resided here. Three children were born to their union. Clara Bliss, who died in infancy and Mrs. Lillian Owrey Keller of Columbus and William T. Owrey of Washington, D.C., both of whom were with her when the end came.
She is also survived by one brother and one sister, A.S. Bliss, Cincinnati and Mrs. Nannie B. Nelson, Birmingham, Ala. Two grandchildren also survive, Mary Kathryn Keller and William Owrey Keller of Columbus.
Mrs. Owrey was a kindly woman, a zealous christian, and a devoted wife and mother. She was an active church and Sunday school worker and was associated with many societies of the Congregational church, which she joined on coming to Ironton 46 years ago. She was also a former member of the Deaconess hospital board. Mrs. Owrey's death will be a source of sorrow to all who knew her.
The funeral arrangements had not been definitely decided today but the services will probably be held at the home Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock. The body will be held temporarily at the Portsmouth mausoleum.
