PRINCETON Florence Conover Hurley, 94, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016. She was born in Belle Mead, NJ, to Cornelius and Eleanor Conover on July 14, 1922.
Florence was a graduate of Somerville High School and Paine Hall in New York City, NY. Upon graduation from Paine Hall, she became a medical secretary followed by many years as a legal secretary at ETS.
She married Herbert Van Cleve Hurley on Sept. 19, 1943. Together, they lived and worked on Terhune's Orchard. Florence was a dedicated volunteer at St. Lawrence for 15 years. She joined the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville in 1952 and was an active member, grateful for the role the church played in her life. Florence had a gift for music, playing both piano and organ, and continued to play daily throughout her life.
Her greatest joy and passion was her family. She is survived by her four children, Kathy Hurley CHATFIELD, Nancy Skillman, David Hurley, and Dan Hurley. She will be forever cherished by her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Florence taught her family how to live fully, to laugh often, and to love abundantly. Friends may visit on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2688 Main St. (Rt. 206), Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A celebration of her life will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery in Hopewell
