Harriet (Judy) J. CHATFIELD, 82, passed away peacefully at the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home in Middleboro, MA on March 7, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, David N. Chatfield. Judy was the daughter of the late John J. and Gertrude (Goodale) Martin. She was born in Middleboro, attended local schools and went on to graduate from Boston University.

Judy lived in Prospect, Connecticut for many years. She was employed by the Regional School District #5 and retired as head of the Guidance Department at Amity Regional High School. She was an accomplished swimmer and spent many summers as a waterfront director at Tripp Lake Camp in Maine. Judy enjoyed traveling and during her career was granted a three-month sabbatical visiting colleges and universities across the United States. Retirement travel highlights included Austria, much of Canada, and New Zealand, where she and her husband toured the country via RV.

Judy moved to Mattapoisett, MA after retirement. As an enthusiastic lifelong learner and teacher, she began work in the education department at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. She coordinated school programs and even closed-circuit classes with students from Alaskan and Hawaiian whaling villages. Judy's other interests included attending symphonies, weaving, and knitting.

Judy's family and friends will miss her and time spent together in Point Connett, Mattapoisett. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Martin, of Middleboro; her daughter, Sarah Morgan, of Virginia; her grandsons, Zachary Mueller, and Rhys Rogers; her stepchildren, Larry Chatfield and Norma Chatfield; and many nieces and nephews. Her memory will also be cherished by "the ladies", Judy's close group of friends since the fourth grade. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, John Mancinelli, and her brother, John F. Martin.

Funeral arrangements are private and interment will be in Connecticut.
