Son of Daniel B GRISWOLD [F45] and Mary BUSHNELL.
After his marriage they resided in Killingworth a short time. Edward served as a private in the Revolutionary War, for a period of 37 months. He moved with his brother John GRISWOLD [F620] to Herkimer County, New York about 1790. They are listed in the 1800-1820 Census of Herkimer County as living in Fairfield, with 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 16-18, 1 male 16-26, 2 females under age 10, 2 females age 10-16 [the rest is cut off. Recopy it.] About 1802 Edward sold his holdings and moved to Dryden, New York. There he became a “prominent and honored citizen.”
