The couple lived in Winnipeg for four years before taking a homestead 18 miles from the store at Dugald, Manitoba, and in 1893 moved to Meadow Lea. In 1912, they moved to a location near Teulon.
Henry came to Canada in 1882. He worked as a stonemason mostly in Winnipeg; he fashioned many of the grave markers in St. James Cemetery.
