Ulde (Shorty) Edgar Provost Jul. 31, 1928 - Feb. 24, 2014 SPRINGDALE, AR - Shorty Provost, age 85, of Springdale AR went to be with his Lord on February 24, 2014. He was born July 31, 1928 in Danielson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Rose Cote Provost, a sister Dora Provost Parron and brother, Lucien (Aldore) Provost and one son, Danny. Shorty leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Provost of Springdale AR; one brother Norman and his wife Dolores of Dayville; Two daughters, Linda Brule and her husband Dennis of Plainfield, Patty Andrews and her husband Jimmy of Thompson, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren in CT and HI. Also his stepchildren: Carlene White of MA, Shirley Roy and her husband Dennis of FL, Jeff Ratliff and his wife Debbie of Springdale AR plus many step grandchildren and great grandchildren in MA, MD and AR. Shorty is a graduate of Killingly High School, Class of 1946. Shorty served in the US ARMY. While serving, he played the drum in the Fife & Drum Corp. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Local 478 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, and retired after over 40 years. He enjoyed talking about heavy equipment especially big cranes. He loved watching baseball, NASCAR and Wheel of Fortune. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and even when Alzheimer's overtook him he never forgot her or his love for her. Private Graveside Services will be 2 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale AR.
