DEATHS.
On the 29th instant, at his late residence, York-street, Mr. Benjamin Bell Beattie, after a long illness, leaving a beloved wife and family to mourn their loss, and greatly respected by all who knew him, in the 62nd year of his age. His end was peace.

Benjamin's father James Beattie and his mother Elizabeth Carruthers lived on a farm Todhillwood near Canonbie. He was the second youngest out of 14 children.

Benjamin Beattie first married Martha Richardson in London 1822. He never divorced Martha. He married Jane Wells in 1841 Sydney.
