A PATHETIC LAST WORD.
Mr. Robert K. Bowden (or Bodden),
who recently died at Mudgee, left a
document to be read at his graveside.
It was as follows:- "This is your dear
father's request after death: That ye
Change your name to Bodden, which is
my right name. ''There has been an
error in writing the letter. 'w' for the
letter 'd'. I request you, my dear
children, to keep strictly the word of
God in your mind. Be guided by the
commandments of Jesus. Love all
mankind. Have respect for people of
God's creation. Always respect old
age, be the aged whom they may - rich
or poor. Bow not to riches. 'It is
but a shadow that fades away. Shun
bad company. Be honest in your
dealings. Let your life be that of the
righteous, that your last days may be
like his. Then God shall bless ye.
upon the land which He giveth thee to
dwell upon. ''The last commandment
I leave unto you is to love one another.
Love God, my children for God is love
and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth
in God.May the blessing of our
Father, which art in Heaven, be upon
ye and your generations- for ever and
ever, is the prayer of your beloved
father, -Robert Knowles Bodden.
Amen."-Mudgee ''Guardian,"
