FATHER TAKEN TO JAIL FOR NEGLECT OF CHILDREN
Former Clerk Rhoades of Sacramento
County Accused of Not Supporting Offspring.
SAN RAFAEL, Dec. 17. — William Rhoades, ex-County Clerk of Sacramento County, has been arrested for non-support of his children. The warrant was sworn to at the request of his wife. Mrs. Belle Rhoades, a resident of Larkspur. Rhoades was found in San Francisco and brought to San Rafael. The Rhoadeses were at one time prominent society people of the capital city. Mrs. Rhoades was Miss Belle CHATFIELD, and Rhoades is the son of Edward R. Rhoades, formerly general manager of the Pennsylvania and Reading Railroad. His uncle, A. J. Rhoades, is a prominent politician of California. Rhoades himself was for many years in the Sacramento County Clerk's office.
