WOODSTOCK SENTINEL - 3 March 1871:
The funeral of the late William Hersee took place at Princeton on Wednesday last and was one of the largest that was ever witnessed in Blenheim.
Deceased was one of the oldest residents of the Township, and the large procession which followed his remains to the grave was a fitting testimony of the respect in which he was held by all who knew him. He will be very much missed in the neighborhood of Princeton, at which station he has been wood contractor for the Great Western Railway for a great number of years.
